GEOLOGICAL MAPPING OF THE SHELF OF THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC: RESULTS OF THE CURRENT STAGE AND PERSPECTIVES

Discusses the history of the formation of the geological survey of the shelf and creating sets of the State geological map of the Arctic shelf of Russia. Currently, a large part of the Arctic seas and adjacent sushi is composed of the sheets of state geological map-1000 third generation, reflecting the current state of knowledge and an updated evaluation of resource potential. Features of the present stage of geological mapping of the shelf is the widespread use of seismic materials. The development prospects of the state geological mapping of the continental shelf of Russia are associated with the creation on the basis of published sheets of seamless maps for large regions, updating the tile sets on the most important resource in respect of stations, the transition to a larger scale.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENGINEERING AND GEOLOGICAL WORK ON THE ARCTIC SHELF OF RUSSIA

The article describes the innovative technologies of JSC «MAGE» during the offshore engineering and geological surveys on the Arctic shelf of Russia, which demonstrate the innovative vector of the development of domestic marine geophysics. Of the most significant, I would first of all like to single out high-resolution seismic, ultra-high-resolution acoustic surveying and work with an autonomous remote-controlled underwater vehicle. Seismic high and ultra-high resolution were used for detailed dismemberment of the upper part of the section in order to detect gas “lenses” and deposits of gas hydrates, as well as to predict the accumulations of shallow gas in the upper part of the section. Performed in the Sea of Okhotsk work with an underwater vehicle showed its high efficiency in assessing the tightness of underwater pipelines, drowned wellheads and the integrity of underwater engineering communications.

Keywords: JSC «MAGE», Arctic Shelf, innovative technologies, high resolution seismic, engineering and geological surveys, remote unmanned underwater vehicle, gas «lenses» and gas hydrate deposits.

COMPLEX GEOPHYSICAL STUDIES OF THE CENTRAL DEEP-WATER PART OF THE ARCTIC OCEAN

The article considers new data obtained as a result of the use of the innovative technologies of JSC «MAGE» in the framework of the research of the central deep-water part of the Arctic Ocean. The results of the performed works made it possible to create an agreed seismostratigraphic model linked to the ACEX IODP 302 well data on the Lomonosov Ridge. Continuous tracking of sedimentary complexes from the shelf to the adjacent deep water area allows us to conclude that the evolutionary history of the structures of the continental margins of the Eastern Arctic and the province of the Central Arctic underwater rises is common.

Keywords: JSC «MAGE», Arctic, innovative technologies, subsea seismic survey, Central Arctic uplifts, seismostratigraphic model, sedimentary cover.

DEVELOPMENT ZONE FORECAST OF POSSIBLE HYDROCARBON ACCUMULATION FEATURES ON THE NORTH BARENTS SHELF

In respect of the oil and gas geology, the North Barents Sea shelf is a huge hydrocarbon generation and accumulation potential in traps of different types. A special interest is caused by stratigraphic traps in the absence of large anticline highs (except for Varnekskaya and Orlovskaya structures) in the sedimentary cover structure of the North Barents shelf. Analysis of thickness structure of seismic geological sequences, mode of occurrence, sedimentation conditions, geochemical preconditions and lithological deposit composition forecasts possible development zones of stratigraphic traps potential for oil and gas.

THE TECTONIC MAP OF THE EAST SIBERIAN SEA: THE UNDISTURBED PALEOZOIC COVER (ACCORDING TO THE DATA ACQUIRED BY MAGE)

After the regional geophysical surveys of the East Siberian shelf, performed in the early 70s of the last century, scientists firmly established the opinion of the young age of the basement of the shelf. The new data obtained by MAGE during the last 5 years on the continental slope of the East Siberian Sea (the De Long rise), the central deep-water part of the Amerasian and Eurasian basins of the Arctic Ocean with a high resolution and a long receiving device made it possible for the first time convincingly and reasonably to confirm that In the western part of the East Siberian Sea under a clearly pronounced and widely developed erosion disagreement and previously isolated Cenozoic coil-bearing cover almost horizontally A powerful Mesozoic-Paleozoic complex, the thickness of which is not less than 4-6 km. These MAGE data made it possible to update the tectonic map of the East Siberian Sea by specifying the thickness of the sedimentary cover and isolating the intermediate pack of Mesozoic-Paleozoic weakly dislocated sediments into a separate rank.

Keywords: East Siberian Sea, seismic data, tectonic map, JSC «MAGE».
