HYDROSPETZGEOLOGIYA — 90 YEARS IN THE SERVICE OF THE STATE
The paper presents the history of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Hydrospetzgeologiya» as the only hydrogeological organization of the Soviet Union and Russia providing special geological operations, a complex of engineering and hydrogeological studies, including state monitoring of the subsoil, regional hydrogeological and geotechnical works, environmental monitoring of enterprises of the State Corporation «Rosatom», geological support of works on underground burial of industrial and radioactive waste, engineering and geological surveys. The directions of work and the main results achieved by the organization over 90 years of activity since 1933 are characterized. The prospects for the development of FSBI «Hydrospetzgeologiya» are formulated and priority directions are identified.

STATE MONITORING OF SUBSOIL CONDITIONS
The system of state monitoring of subsoil conditions includes three subsystems: groundwater monitoring, monitoring of exogenous geological processes, monitoring of endogenous geological processes. The main activity of GMSN was and remains information support for the management bodies of the state subsoil fund — Rosnedra and its territorial bodies. Information products for state monitoring of the state of subsoil are prepared annually — information bulletins, certificates, forecasts of groundwater levels, forecasts for the development of dangerous EGP, reports on the manifestations of dangerous EGP, monthly information bulletins on the current geodynamic state of seismically hazardous regions of Russia (with a forecast of possible seismic hazard).

ZONING OF THE TERRITORY OF THE TULA REGION ACCORDING TO THE LEVEL OF HAZARD OF KARST-SUFFUSION PROCESSES
This paper presents the methodology of zoning the territory according to the level of hazard of karst-suffusion processes based on identification of manifestations of processes and factors determining their spatial distribution, calculation of the integral hazard index and zoning of the territory according to the level of hazard according to the values of the integral index. The approbation of the methodology of zoning the territory according to the level of hazard of karstsuffusion processes was carried out on the example of the territory of the Tula region.

CRITERIA FOR ASSESSING THE NEGATIVE CHANGE IN THE STATE OF GROUNDWATER OF THE BAIKAL NATURAL TERRITORY AND ITS ZONING ACCORDING TO THE DEGREE OF DANGER OF NEGATIVE CHANGES
The groundwater of the Baikal natural territory experiences intense and diverse technogenic impacts, resulting in changes in their conditions. The work proposes evaluation criteria and zoning of the territory according to the degree of danger of these changes.

The article discusses the main features of methodological techniques for processing and comprehensive analysis of monitoring data of dangerous endogenous geological processes and the effectiveness of their application using the example of the reaction of the North Caucasus observation network to the preparation and implementation of the catastrophic Turkish earthquake in February 2023.

DEPOSITS OF THERMAL ENERGY WATER IN THE KURIL-KAMCHATSK REGION AND PROSPECTS FOR THEIR DEVELOPMENT
Current information on the geological structure, hydrogeothermal conditions, reserves of underground thermal energy waters and the development of the most significant geothermal deposits in Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands is provided. The efficiency of use and prospects for the development of new hydrothermal sites are considered. It is shown that the current and immediate future demand for thermal power water can be satisfied through real reserves.

HYDROGEOLOGICAL STUDIES TO SUBSTANTIATE THE UNDERGROUND DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS INDUSTRIAL WASTE IN DEEP AQUIFERS
The problem of underground disposal of liquid hazardous industrial waste is considered. It is noted that one of the first organizations that began research in this direction since the beginning of the 50s of the last century is the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Hydrospetsgeology» (formerly the Second Hydrogeological Department of the Mingeo of the USSR). Currently, one of the main activities of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Hydrospetsgeology» is the creation of a set of digital specialized maps of a scale of 1:1,000,000 on the conditions of disposal of hazardous liquid industrial waste. During the period 2017–2022, specialists of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Hydrospetsgeology» completed work on the European part of the country and the territory of the West Siberian Plate. Currently, work is underway to create a set of 1:1,000,000 scale maps on the territory of the Siberian Platform. The criteria by which the justification of the suitability of geological structures (subsurface areas) for the underground disposal of liquid industrial waste was carried out are described.

EXPERIENCE IN CREATING AND IMPLEMENTING SECTORAL SYSTEM OF OBJECT MONITORING OF SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS (OS OMSN) AT ROSATOM STATE CORPORATION
A sectoral system of object monitoring of subsurface conditions (OS OMSN) including 56 ecologically significant enterprises of Rosatom State Corporation was created and put into operation. The basic methodological approaches to its creation taking into account the nature of production activities of enterprises and various geological and hydrogeological conditions of their location, functional and organizational structure, the results obtained and their practical use are described.

HYDROGEOLOGICAL TRACER TESTING OF THE SANDY-CLAY AQUIFER OF THE BOLSHOY CHEREMSHAN RIVER VALLEY
Hydrogeological tracer testing of the sand-clay aquifer at the hydrogeological safety estimation of near-surface radioactive waste deposit is considered. Study site is located in a valley of Bolshoy Cheremshan river. Fluorescein (uranine or D&C Yellow no. 8) was used as a conservative flow tracer in duplet field-tests. Processing and interpretation the results of the experiment were carried out using numerical modeling.

Special geological studies in the pre-war and war years
The foundation of the special geological service, its objectives, especially the organization of the service in the pre-war years are considered. The activities of the Spetzgeo during the war, the organization of the units for field operations, drilling and geological squads are considered in detail. Samples of maps and schemes compiled during this period are presented, reviews of the work of the service are given. The importance of special geological operations in military conflicts is noted.
