FORECASTING OF PROSPECTIVE AREAS FOR PROSPECTING IN SOUTHERN UZBEKISTAN

The article discusses the issues of forecasting promising deposits of precious and non-ferrous metals in Southern Uzbekistan. To identify areas promising for gold, copper, lead, zinc and tungsten, improved methods of statistical metallogenic analysis of objects on a complex of geological, geophysical and geochemical maps of this territory were used and promising areas were identified.

COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MICROELEMENT COMPOSITION OF THE BAJOSSIAN DEPOSITS OF THE NORTH-EASTERN SLOPE OF THE GREATER CAUCASUS

The comparative characteristics of the microelement composition of the Bajossian deposits of the northeastern slope of the Greater Caucasus are considered using the results of geochemical research methods. It has been established that, compared with sedimentary rocks in general, the Bajossian deposits are characterized by low contents of Ni, Pb, Cu, Co, Zn, Mn and higher contents of V, Cr. The conducted research is of practical importance and useful in the search for minerals, as well as in the study and protection of the environment, ecologists, etc.

 PORPHYRY POTENTIAL OF THE KULTUMA DEPOSIT BASED ON ZIRCON TRACE ELEMENT COMPOSITIONS (EASTERN TRANSBAIKALIA, RUSSIA)

 Whole-rock and zircon trace element compositions of the Kultuma intrusion granitoids linked genetically to the Kultuma gold-copper-iron (with silver) skarn deposit are reported. According to whole-rock indicators (Sr/Y > 40, Sr > 420 ppm, Y < 15.5 ppm) and indicator features of zircons (Eu/Eu* = 0.28, Yb/Dy = 3.7) from monzonite-, quartz-syenite-, and granite-porphyries and oxygen fugacities calculations (avg. ΔFMQ +0.48), the Kultuma granitoids were evolved from hydrous, moderately oxidized magmas. However, the oxidation state of the magmas was insufficient for productive porphyry mineralization to occur.

PROBLEMS OF CONDUCTING GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION FOR OIL AND GAS IN THE LOWER OLIGOCENE-UPPER TITHONIAN STRUCTURAL TIER THE TERSKO-CASPIAN REGIONAL DEFLECTION

The reasons for the low efficiency of geological exploration work (GEW) in the Lower Oligocene-Upper Tithonian structural tier of the Tersko-Caspian regional deflection (TCRD) are considered. It is concluded that they are associated in the deflection with the presence of several structural tiers, disharmonious folding due to the presence of plastic clays of the Maikop series in the section, high density of local structures of the main and additional folding, the backstage articulation of their periclinals, small size and amplitude of structures of additional folding, a large number of discontinuous disturbances, complex seismogeological and landscape conditions, low the resolution of the seismic survey of the MOV OGT, as well as various ideas about the mechanism of formation of structural elements of the deflection.

THE INFLUENCE OF ENGINEERING-GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS ON THE POSSIBILITY OF MUSEUMIFICATION OF ARCHITECTURAL-ARCHAEOLOGICAL MONUMENTS ON THE KARELIAN ISTHMUS

Domestic tourism has been actively developing in Russia in recent years. The article analyzes the conditions for the long-term preservation of ancient fortification structures of the Karelian Isthmus and the possibility of their museumification on the example of the Tiversky settlement and the Korela fortress, taking into account the peculiarities of the engineering-geological conditions of the southern part of the Baltic Shield. The authors take into account climatic changes, the role of tectonic processes in the formation of the river network, and analyze the processes developing in the foundations and structures of monuments.

MINERALOGICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL STUDIES OF THE GOLDEN MINERALIZATION OF SHARYKTY (CENTRAL KYZYLKUM)

In the Central Kyzylkum, in the Daugyztau ore field, there are numerous small occurrences of gold, which may be of interest for industrial mining in connection with the more advanced technologies for beneficiation of gold-sulfide ores being developed in Uzbekistan, taking into account world experience in the development of small crowded deposits. To study the industrial significance of the Sharykty ore occurrence, studies were carried out to study the mineral composition of ores and near-ore rocks, to identify the forms of finding gold and silver, and the nature of the distribution of useful components in ores. Productive mineral associations for gold and accompanying mineralization have been identified; determine the forms of finding gold and other useful components in ores using modern analytical equipment.

METHODICAL SPECIFICS OF FORECASTING AND EVALUATING COMMONLY OCCURRING MINERAL RESOURCES

 A scheme is suggested for forecasting and evaluating the deposits of commonly occurring mineral resources (COMR) applicable for regions of any area and taking into account the specific characteristics of a certain type of resource. The classification of criteria in the suggested scheme is given in the form of five evaluation blocks, each of which can be used as a stage of a comprehensive evaluation of a region’s mineral resources, or be applied individually for the solution of separate tasks. The characteristics of the criteria and the methods of their mathematical visualization are given.

THE EVALUATION OF HAZARDOUS GEOLOGICAL PROCESSES IN THE OPERATION OF «THE CHAYANDAVSTO» OIL PIPELINE

The study aims at identifying areas with the activation of hazardous geological processes during the operation of the pipeline. We given the description of the engineering and geological conditions of the pipeline route. We constructed forecast maps of the territory’s susceptibility to dangerous geological processes using GIS technologies. We checked the quality of models is using the analysis of ROC curves.
