MAIN TASKS OF GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION FOR HIGH-TECH METALS
The article presents data of some high-tech metals (copper, nickel, cobalt, titanium, tungsten, platinum group metals and lithium). For each metal, information is provided on the role of the metal in the global situation, the state in Russia, on the financing of geological exploration, and on large subsoil objects being implemented. It is concluded that, despite the diversity and scale of the domestic mineral resource base, there are various problems of its formation and development, as well as ways to solve them, for several fundamentally important types of raw materials.

ORE-FORMING SYSTEMS OF LARGE DEPOSITS OF HIGH-TECH METALS IN RUSSIA: PATTERNS OF PLACEMENT, CONDITIONS OF FORMATION, MINERAL RESOURCE POTENTIAL
As a result of research in 2021 under the section of the project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation No. 13.1902.21.0018: the main ore-forming systems—sources of strategic metals are identified; a database of deposits and promising ore occurrences of strategic and high-tech metals of Russia has been created; geological and genetic models have been prepared, and on their basis predictive prospecting models of large deposits of strategic metals; new approaches to forecasting large deposits of strategic metals have been developed, including on the basis of data from the GOCE (Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer) spacecraft, which allow using elements of the deep structure of the Earth’s crust in predictive prospecting models; a series of predictive metallogenic maps of the territory of various regions of Russia has been compiled.

GEOLOGICAL POSITION AND MATERIAL COMPOSITION OF ORES OF GOLD DE-POSITS OF THE QUANG NAM – QUANG NGAI REGION (CENTRAL VIETNAM)
Presented are the geologic setting, mineral and elemental composition of the ores, and the sequence diagram of mineral formation of the gold deposits of the Phuoc Son and Phuoc Thanh ore fields in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces in central Vietnam. According to geological mapping data at 1: 500000, 1:50,000 scale and larger, the gold mineralization is located in metamorphic rocks Nuivu and proterozoic-cambrian Kham Duc complex. The ore-bearing zones are associated with intrusive granitoid complexes of the Late Paleozoic Bengiang – QueSon and Permian Bana complexes.

MODERN TECHNOLOGICAL APPROACHES FOR PROCESSING OF GOLD-CONTAINING ANTIMONY RAW MATERIALS
There are no operating enterprises for processing various types of antimony concentrates in Russia. There is a dependence of the domestic industry on the import of commercial antimony compounds. Non-ecological technologies for processing raw materials are used. Therefore, there is a need to modernize existing technologies and develop better approaches to the processing of gold-containing antimony raw materials. Disclosed are technological solutions in hydrometallurgy based on combining two environmentally safe reagents (glycerol, thiosulfate). These technological solutions exclude the use of highly toxic cyanides in the process of gold extraction, ensure the selection of gold from antimony and are suitable for the production of commercial antimony and gold-containing products.

The article presents the results of research on the processing of industrial waste from the production of mineral fertilizers from phosphorites and apatites of Russian and foreign enterprises with the pro-duction of individual rare earth metals (REM), conducted by Skygrad Group of Companies from 2011 to 2021.

This article presents for public discussion the results of experimental and industrial tests of the use of RMS technology (XRAy radiometric separation) for the preliminary enrichment of lepidolite ores of the MCD deposit in Mongolia, conducted jointly by Irgiredmet JSC, Russia, Irkutsk and the en-gineering company CALK SPAR LLC, Mongolia, Ulanbator.

PREDICTED CHEMICAL ELEMENTS OF THE PERIODIC TABLE AND THEIR DISCOVERY
While creating the periodic system of chemical elements in year 1869, Dmitry Mendeleev in accordance with the Periodic Law he discovered, left vacant places in the third group for unknown elements — probable analogues of aluminum and silicon (ekaaluminium and ekasilicon). Mendeleev described quite accurately not only the most important physical and chemical properties based on the properties of neigh-boring, well studied elements, but also the method of their discovery —spectroscopy. The subsequent discovery of gallium and discoveries of germanium and scandium strengthened the position of Mendeleev’s Periodic Law, vividly demonstrating its predictive power.
