HYDROGEOLOGY IN THE SERVICE OF THE STATE

Background of FSBI «Hydrospetzgeologiya», as unique hydrogeological enterprise in Soviet Union and Russian Federation, which provides special military-geological surveys and set of engineering and hydrogeological surveys, included state monitoring of subsurface state, environmental monitoring of enterprises overseen by SC Rosatom, geological surveys for underground disposal of industrial and radioactive wastes and near surveys, is presented. Focus area and main results of 85 operation years (since 1933) are described. FSBI «Hydrospetzgeologiya» development perspectives and prioritize work direction are defined.

THE ASSESSMENT OF THE POSSIBILITY OF USING SUBSURFACE RESOURCES TO CREATE UNDERGROUND OIL STORAGE FACILITIES OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE OF HYDROCARBON RAW MATERIALS

Problems of choice of subsoil areas for making underground storage facilities of oil of the capacity 1000000m3 and more were addressed. Information on the types of underground oil storage facilities was provided. The experience of using subsoil for storing liquid hydrocarbons is summarized. Requirements were worked out for subsoil plots and rocks suitable for underground oil storage facilities. A map of zoning of geological formations within a 200 km zone, wich adjoins the  existing, under construction and  projected oil pipeline systems on the territory of each federal district at a scale of 1:2500000 and a scale of 1:15000000 territory of Russia as a whole was compiled.

STATE MONITORING OF THE SUBSOIL – THE INFORMATION BASIS OF THE STATE HYDROGEOLOGICAL MAPPING

The questions of the priority objects choice of hydrogeological mapping in the post-study areas, which had previously been drawn up hydrogeological maps, as well as issues of the optimal composition of work in hydrogeological survey are discussed. It is shown that using the data of the state monitoring of the subsoil as an information basis for mapping, these issues can be solved with maximum efficiency.

ENSURING THE SAFE MANAGEMENT OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE AND JUSTIFYING THE DECOMMISSIONING SCENARIOS OF NUCLEAR AND RADIATION HAZARDOUS FACILITIES OF THE SC «ROSATOM» USING DATA FROM INDUSTRY INFORMATION-ANALYTICAL SYSTEMS

Examples of the implementation an analytical-information system of facility-focused monitoring of subsurface state at enterprises of the State Corporation Rosatom are given. The information-analytical system of radioecological monitoring is characterized. It is noted that the use of these analytical systems makes it possible to save financial and material resources.

The article considers content and the sequence of work drawing up and preparing for publication sets of digital hydrogeological maps in scale 1:1 000 000 and 1:200 000. It character-izes the content of hydrogeological maps, аlso it results an order of representation on approbation of text and graphic materials.

STATE AND MAIN PROBLEMS OF THE DRINKING WATER ON THE BASE OF GROUND SOURCES IN THE URALS FEDERAL DISTRICT

In the context of the state monitoring of mineral resources in the Ural Federal district, the results of the use of subsurface sources in drinking water supply systems, territorial hydrochemical and water management features associated with the uneven distribution of resources and groundwater reserves are demonstrated. A significant amount of groundwater extraction in mining enterprises determines their potential for drinking.

IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF INDUSTRIAL NUCLEAR WASTE WET STORAGES ON GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER USING NUMERICAL MODELING

Based on hydrogeological monitoring and special survey data, hydrodynamic and solute transport models for industrial wet storages were developed. The pollutant inflow into groundwater due to the solute transport in vadose zone was quantitatively assessed; also forecast of contamination transport with groundwater flow was made.
