LEGEND TO THE MAP OF HYDROGEOLOGICAL ZONING OF THE FREE WATER EXCHANGE ZONE

During the last decades the zoning of groundwater basins is being made exclusively according to the structural-hydrogeological principle, which is not sufficiently adequately for maps of the free water exchange zone (FWEZ), because fresh groundwater is formed mainly under influence of physical-geographical factors: territory humidity, permafrost, evaporation, etc. The FWEZ peculiarity in Russia is determined, to a certain extent, by predominance of moisture transfer. For the first time two rows of zoning are proposed to use for compiling FWEZ maps: structural-hydrogeological and landscape-hydrogeological. The methodology for zoning of the both rows is developed, which gives the possibility to show on the map integratedly an influence of geologic-structural and landscape-zonal factors upon distribution of fresh groundwater resource potential. The developed methodology has been realized on the example of the FWEZ schematic map of European part of the Russian Federation.

Key words: zone of free water exchange, structural-hydrogeological row, landscape-hydrogeological row, groundwater resource potential.

IDENTIFICATION OF THE ENGINEERING GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURES OF PERMAFROST ROCKS BY MEANS OF NONSTANDART ENGINEERING SEISMIC METHODS

The seismic way for estimation of engineering and geological environment structure of test area by using of data of technogenic microseisms is suggested. This way does not require the use of shock and explosive sources, which significantly increases the economy of seismic work in permafrost. The main applications – monitoring of state of ground dams of hydroelectric stations. It is shown that the wave field of the hydro turbine can be processed, for example, by application of seismic migration procedures.

Key words: engineering geocriological structure, traps, xenoliths, engineering seismic, microseisms, the definition of the geological structure, absorption of microseisms energy, seismic migration.

PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SAMPLES DIAMOND-HARD-ALLOY SIMULATING IMPREGNATED DIAMOND LAYER OF DRILL BITS

The results of laboratory test samples consisting of diamond grains of different quality, degree of granularity and fixing in the matrix. The composition of samples simulated diamond layer of drill bits and methods of testing simulated the conditions of the crown. It is shown that in the case of small diamonds increase of the fixing degree can increase the supply of up to 3 times, a specific tunneling of up to 28 times and reduce the specific consumption of diamonds of up to 8 times. All properties are steadily growing with the increasing concentration of diamonds. The quality of the diamonds fixing significantly increased the impact on the drill velocity and specific driving of diamonds concentration increasing in the composite. The use of large diamonds reduced impact of the diamonds fixing quality on specific driving and specific consumption of diamonds to 2 and 2.5 times, respectively. The samples, were fitted with chrome-plated synthetic diamond brand АС400 500/400 at a concentration of 125 %, had the highest performance.

Key words: adhesion, diamond, endurance capability, wear hardness, diamondiferous layer, drill bit.

GEOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE NEAR-SURFACE RADIOACTIVE WASTE STORAGE FACILITY OF THE IPPE

The paper presents the results of geological environment impact assessment of the near-surface radioactive waste storage facility of the Institute for Physics and Power Engineering named after A.I. Leypunsky (IPPE). The specific activity of 90Sr and 137Cs in groundwater of the upper aquifer on the site is below the existing radiation safety standards for drinking water (4,9 and 11 Bq/kg respectively). Radioactive contamination of the rocks, contoured with isolines of the specific activity of 90Sr 1000 Bq/kg and 137Cs 100 Bq/kg is located in the vadoze zone and extended to a depth of 8 m; the volume of contaminated rocks is 2230 m3. The results of the research were used in the project of decommissioning of the radwaste storage facility for reasoning of the amount of work on excavation of contaminated rocks and for safe handling of radioactive waste and contaminated rocks.

Key words: near-surface radwaste storage facility, decommissioning project, radioactive contamination of rocks, strontium-90, cesium-137.
