It is considered the russian subsoil legislation requires a large-scale revision in order to bring the regulatory framework in compliance with day-to-day realities, and most importantly to stimulate the development of the subsoil management. As the conceptual review of legislation is a lengthy process, the urgent task of the legislators is to adjust the existing subsoil legislation to current mining and exploration practice. During the current year, the legislative work of relevant committees of the Federation Council and the State Duma concentrated on this urgent task.

MC «PETROPAVLOVSK»: THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF SUCCESS IN THE CREATION OF GOLD ORE RESOURCE BASE

For 10 years successfully developing company «Petropavlovsk PLC» has established its gold ore resource base from the 3 major deposits, which were waste, small ore occurrences known since Soviet times. This could be accomplished by a creative reinterpretation of geology, almost continuous, quality and representative sampling, reliable and rapid analyses and intensification of exploration.

ROLE OF SUBMERIDIONAL GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURES IN THE FORMATION OF ORE CLUSTERS IN THE AMUR REGION

In Amur Region, some structures are hidden and marked out only by geomorphological and geophysical characteristics. They control the spread of magmatism, specific minerageny and placement of ore clusters and ore fields. They have a north-north-east orientation and traced from China. Other north-east-sublatitudinal orientation tectonic structures define the structure of the deposit, the morphology of the ore bodies and they are impact-order derivatives of the Eurasian tectonic plate.

THE MAIN FEATURES OF TYGDA-ULUNGA ORE NODE GOLD-BEARING.

Pokrovsky and Pioneer are the largest gold deposits developed by JSC «Pokrovsky mine», the leading enterprise of group of companies «Petropavlovsk». They are located within Tygda-Ulunga ore node. According to the materials of geological exploration in recent years, the boundaries of the ore node were refined. 9 ore (ore potential) fields and areas were defined within a node on the geo-structural basis. Typing fields and areas on the specifics of deposits and occurrences structure was produced.

GOLD-BEARING FANGLOMERATES – A NEW TYPE OF GOLD DEPOSIT AT POKROVSKY ORE FIELD

More than 10 years MC «Petropavlovsk» working on Pokrovsky ore field, successfully increasing the mineral resource base of gold ore. During the intensive exploration on the flanks of Pokrovsky deposit, the new type of gold mineralization was identified and studied in detail. This is gold mineralization in fanglomerates. This article describes the origins, distribution and mineralization of fanglomerates.

NOVOGODNEE-MONTO AND PETROPAVLOVSKOE GOLD DEPOSITS – NEW GOLD ORE AREA IN POLAR URALS

For the first time in the Polar Urals company «Yamalzoloto» identified economic deposits of gold ore. The discovery of new deposits was possible only thanks to large volumes of trenching and drilling at the early stages of evaluation, creating a modern analytical laboratory, quality and representative sampling of continuous developments.

VYSOKOE – THE NEW INDUSTRIAL TYPE OF GOLD DEPOSIT IN YENISEI RIDGE AREA

The main characteristics of the new-explored Vysokoe gold deposit are given. The deposit position in the regional structures of the Yenisei Ridge is shown and confinement of gold-quartz formation mineralized zones-type deposits to Blagodatnaya geochemical ore-concentration zone is indicated. The article founds that the range of the mineralization processes is specified by development of a major steeply dipping fracture zone oriented diagonally to the main longitudinal faults and folded structures.

ROLE OF TECTONIC DISLOCATIONS IN THE FORMATION OF
ALBYNSKOE ORE FIELD

There was a reconstruction of the ore-forming of Albynskoe ore field evolution. There are stages: pre-ore stage – formation of ore-controlling system, ore stage – formation of accordant and intersecting faults, post-ore stage – formation of gapping and dikes intrusion. The most productive areas of the concordant ore bodies are located in ​​maximum tectonic dislocations zones. Formation of the discordant ore bodies occurs because of movements of tectonic blocks along the north-east left strike-slip faults.

ZHELTUNAK GOLDEN ORE DEPOSIT – SMALL OBJECT ON THE SIDES OF POKROVSKY DEPOSIT

Explored gold deposit Zheltunak with non-refractory ore rated as small (up to 2 tons of gold) and successfully worked through as subsidiary source of raw materials for the Pokrovsky mine processing plant. Mineralization is confined to the elements of thrust-fault tectonics and shear dislocations in the volcanic formations of the Lower Cretaceous.

General characteristics and some applications of original advanced technology, based on the methods of geochemical tomography, to exploration and quantification of ore deposits are described. Examples are given to confirm the efficiency of this technology and advantages of its introduction into the practice of geologic exploration.

Peculiarities of distribution and preservation of the weathering crusts and associated oxidation zones in the Amur region. The analysis of gold distribution in the oxidized zones of a number of gold deposits is presented and the features having the decisive influence on the gold extraction condition are briefly noted.

OJSC «GDK «BERELEKH» – GOLD MINING COMPANY OF KOLYMA REGION

Open Joint Stock Company «GDK «Berelekh» – a major gold mining company of Kolyma region with annual gold production to 1.7 tons. The article describes history of the company leaving in the 1930th years. There are the current state and quality of gold ore resource base of the mining company operating in the Basin of Berelekh River – at once unique placer gold deposits of the central part of the Yana-Kolyma gold metallogenic province, located within the Verkhoyansk-Chukotka fold region. The problematic issues of subsoil use under the current legislation for the development of placer deposits of Magadan region and the whole of the Far Eastern region of Russia are affected.

FEATURES SEARCH AND APPRAISAL AND DEVELOPMENT WORK IN THE AQUIFER HORIZONS OF GOLD DEPOSITS IN THE AMUR REGION

Survey and assessment of groundwater resources in the fields of gold in the Amur region, the exploitation of aquifers in areas of the group of companies “Petropavlovsk” have their own characteristic features. It is a high-filtration lithological variability of species, complex cryogenic environment, the seasonal-sounding the knowledge of surface water bodies, difficult water exchange, developed tectonics. In article examined these features and provides some guidance.

THE PROSPECT OF DISCOVERING NEW TYPES OF GOLD MINERALIZATION IN BURYATIA

Prospecting works whithin the Talikitskaya area using the method of geocosmic sensing of the Earth were carried out for the first time. The prospects of finding gold deposits were expanded within the Turquino-Bambuyskaya structural metallogenic zone. As a result of prospecting works conducted by CJSC “Region” in Buryatia within the area Talikitskaya (License УДЭ 01039 БР), in the Talikit site besides the quartz-sulfide type of ores the new types of gold mineralization were found and investigated, such as quartz-orthoclase and ore, related with zones cataclasis, foliation, sericitation, silicification and albitization. These types haven’t been studied previously.

MODERN CONCEPTS OF STRATIGRAPHY OF KIMKAN SKY ORE DISTRICT AND GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF SUTARSKY FERRUGINOUS QUARTZITES DEPOSIT

Sutarskoye banded iron deposit is located in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Russia, the western part of Kimkansky ore district. Mineralization is localized in the Early Cambrian metamorphosed volcanic and carbonate sediments of Kimkansky pericratonal trough. It is shown the location of banded iron formations in the stratified sediments of Khing’an series of metamorphic rocks, a block diagram of Sutarsky deposit, characteristic of its major ore deposits and host rocks.

FLOATATION TREATMENT OF REFRECTORY GOLD SULFIDE ORE OF MALOMIR AND PIONEER DEPOSITS

The article elaborates on the design and processing solutions for treatment of refractory gold ore from Malomir and Pioneer deposits using floatation technology. The technological characteristics of the head ore and floatation concentrates are described. Process instrumental diagrams of the floatation processing plants and the description of the high pressure gold processing are provided in the article.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN POX PROCESS

The methods of proceeding of gold ores containing arsenic are shown. The technological features of each method are described. A brief note on Research Centre «Hydrometallurgy» establishment by Petropavlovsk group of companies is shown. The measures of wastewater and gas/dust emissions treatment applied at Research Centre «Hydrometallurgy» and on Pokrovskiy pilot plant at Blagoveshchensk are described. The schematics of Malomir and Pioneer concentrates combined treatment on commercial Pokrovskiy POX plant are shown. The characteristics of wastes are shown; the effect of solid, liquid and gaseous POX products on environment is evaluated.

GOLD ADSORPTION RECOVERY ONTO WEAK-BASE RESIN FROM THE SLURRY AFTER PRESSURE OXIDATION OF FLOTATION CONCENTRATE

Laboratory batch and continuous pilot tests on Resin-In-Pulp process using weak-base resin PuroGold were conducted to recover gold from the slurry after pressure oxidation of flotation concentrate from Malomyr mine. It was shown that the rate of gold cyanide leaching is high due to liberation of fine gold after sulfide minerals oxidation. Low cyanide consumption was reported due to removal of cyanicides during POX and lime pretreatment of flotation concentrates before cyanidation. The results of the tests are used for the development of process design criteria for designing of the plant for processing of flotation concentrate from Malomyr mine.

Central assay-analytical laboratory was established in 2004. In the initial stages the laboratory engaged in analytical support of gold deposits exploration. With the development of the group of companies «Petropavlovsk» laboratory became a powerful analytical center, standing on the same level with the country’s leading laboratories in this field.
