LOOKING INTO THE PAST,PRESENT AND FUTURE (TO THE 80THANNIVERSARY OF THE ENTERPRISE)

The paper presents a historical background of organization of special military-geological works in our country as a separate line of the geological sector. The main tasks solved by this kind of work are given. The activity areas of the Enterprise are characterized from 1933 to the present. It is pointed out that the scientific-geological and production studies of the Enterprise, both in the past and at present, as well as in plans for the future, focus on the following priority areas: special military-geological works; State monitoring of the subsoil within the Russian Federation; a set of geological works at the sites of the Rosatom Corporation, includingsite-based monitoring of the subsoil; studies of subsurface disposal of toxic industrial waste and engineering-geological assessment of underground development conditions.

DYNAMICS OF VARIATION OF A CONDITION OF RESOURCE BASE OF DRINKING AND TECHNICAL UNDERGROUND WATERS, ITS DEVELOPMENT AND USE IN TERRITORY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION FOR THE PERIOD 1991-2010 YEARS

The general sizes of stocks of drinking and technical underground waters, their variations and mid-annual values, as well as quantity of deposits (sites of deposits), including being in operation are considered for 1991-2010 years and on the five years’ periods. The analysis of variations of mid-annual extraction of drinking and technical underground waters, including on sites of bowels with the estimated stocks is resulted. General use of underground waters and for economic-drinking water supply of the population is characterized. The degree of development of stocks and deposits (sites of deposits) drinking and technical underground waters is estimated.

FACTORS OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE LANDSLIDE PROCESS, ALLOCATED ON THE BASIS OF THE INFORMATION ANALYSIS ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE REPUBLIC OF DAGESTAN

In the real work a number of spatial information models with a various size of a cell of a model grid, therefore, with various detail of the characteristic of a prevalence of the territory landslide process is created. On the basis of the information analysis communication of various indicators with territory prevalence is estimated by landslide process. The signs characterizing development of landslide process in the studied territory are allocated.

THE BASIC POSITIONS AND PRINCIPLES OF THE UNIFIED HYDROGEOLOGICAL STRATIFICATION OF HYDRO-GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURES OF THE TERRITORY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Principles and criteria of hydrogeological stratification of the geological section of hydrogeological structures are developed, principles and diagrams of typification of objects of hydrogeological stratification with allocation stratified and notstratified objects are resulted and their definitions, as well as taxonomical a number of relationship of these objects are given. Rules are considered and examples of assignment of names to objects hydrogeological stratification and their hydrogeological indexation are resulted.

MAPS OF CONDITIONS OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE DISPOSAL – A REQUIREMENT FOR SUBSTANTIATION OF LOCATIONS OF ENTERPRISES PRODUCING HAZARDOUS WASTE

It is noted that the enterprises of a number of industrial sectors produce a considerable volume of hazardous industrial waste that are to be disposed of in geological formations. It is pointed out that with the development of the nuclear industry radioactive waste management poses a very acute problem. A case study of the geological structures, within which Kurskaya and Balakovskaya nuclear power plants are located, has shown that a strategic decision on site selection for new nuclear power plants and other facilities that produce hazardous waste must be made taking into account the possibilities of construction of disposal sites for hazardous industrial waste within the selected areas. Selection of the geological environment, perspective for construction of disposal sites for hazardous industrial waste, must be made in stages: at the concept design stage – on the basis of a set of maps of conditions of waste disposal at a scale of 1:2 500 000; at the investment substantiation stage – at a scale of 1:200 000; at the general design stage – at a scale of 1:50 000-1:25 000.

DRILLING WASTE MANAGEMENT METHODS IN THE PROCESS OF EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF OIL AND GAS FIELDS

The article considers drilling waste management methods on oil and gas fields confined to geological structures in various natural conditions. Examples of using the methods of drilling waste utilization are given. Requirements for geological structures are formulated that determine their suitability for applying various methods of drilling waste management.

RECOMMENDATIONS ON ORGANIZATION OF SITE-BASED MONITORING OF THE GEOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT IN CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF DISPOSAL SITES FOR HAZARDOUS INDUSTRIAL WASTE OF DIFFERENT AGGREGATE STATE AND SUBSURFACE OIL STORAGE RESERVOIRS

It is pointed out that in the Russian Federation there are no methodical documents that regulate the processes of organization and conduction of site-based monitoring of the subsoil at the sites of subsurface and near-surface disposal of industrial waste and subsurface oil storage reservoirs. Working procedure, geological environment parameters under study are considered as well as procedures of their acquisition for various types of subsurface and near-surface industrial waste disposal sites and subsurface oil storage reservoirs. Details of organization of site-based monitoring of the subsoil are given for near-surface, mine and borehole disposal sites, cavity disposal locations and subsurface oil storage reservoirs in salt rock and permafrost rocks. The need for elaboration of methodical documents on organization and conduction of site-based monitoring of the subsoil for various types of subsurface and near-surface disposal of industrial waste and subsurface oil storage reservoirs is outlined.

An analysis of peculiar properties forming the underground and surface runoffs in the area of Ural electrochemical plant was carried out. The state of knowledge of the problem of possible flooding of the facilities was assessed, and, as a result, a number of actions was suggested that should control and forcast the state of subsurface.

EVALUATION OF IMPACT NEAR-SURFACE RADIOACTIVE WASTE REPOSITORIES PRODUCED BY FSUE «RISI» ON THE SUBSURFACE

Here are considered the stages of creating the groundwater monitoring system on FSUE “RISI” industrial site, determined some possible sources of impact on groundwater and potential objects that could be damaged. Creating the operating network of observation wells allowed specifying geological and hydrogeological conditions within the plant area and evaluating the current state of the surface at the nuclear radiation hazardous facilities location zone. Has been demonstrated the lack of radioactive impact on the soil and groundwater.

The chloride contaminations sources of groundwater are being intake by JSC “State Science Center – Research Institute of Atomic Reactors” were determined using numerical simulation. The recommendations on rehabilitation activities, providing stability of drinking water quality have been given.

Here is a brief characteristic of monitoring of underground radioactive waste repository produced by Siberian Chemical Plant and by groundwater pumps of Seversk city central water supply. Have been presented the results of monitoring confirming the safety of cooperative exploitation of resources for waste disposal and for groundwater extraction.
