SOUTH TRANSBAIKAL MINERAL RESOURCES URANIUM CLUSTER

The article examines the current state and prospects for expanding the mineral resource base (MRB) of the Priargunsky and Vitimsky uranium ore districts. Due to long-term mining operations, their reserves have been significantly depleted, necessitating measures for resource replenishment to ensure the secure long-term operation of key enterprises: PAO «PPGHO named after E. P. Slavsky» and AO «Khiagda». The prospects for expanding the MRB of AO «Dalur» (Transural district), which is completing the development of sandstone-type deposits, are currently uncertain and are not discussed in this paper. Proposals are substantiated for bringing into operation previously explored sites on the flanks of active ore fields, as well as promising areas on the periphery of the specified regions. The article also characterizes adjacent promising districts where geological exploration activities are currently underway or planned. The ultimate objective is the establishment of the South Transbaikal Uranium Mineral Resource Cluster (MRC). Within its framework, the development of known and newly discovered uranium deposits will encompass a vast territory, featuring on-site primary ore processing and subsequent transportation of intermediate products to existing production complexes.

Keywords: stockwork, paleovalley, sandstone type, plateau basalts, in-situ leaching (ISL), small sorption units (SSU), sorption, desorption.

A POLYGONAL METHOD FOR RESERVE CALCULATION IN MODERN CONDITIONS

This paper analyzes the results of applying the polygonal method in comparison with reserve estimation using the geological block method. Using a thoroughly explored mineral resource as a benchmark, it is shown that the estimation error for the polygonal method with a non-uniform grid is lower than that of the geological block method. Mineralization delineation errors using each estimation method are comparable. The polygonal method offers several advantages in modern conditions: high calculation efficiency and effectiveness, as well as the ability to generate graphical documents and spreadsheets in appropriate programs. It is applicable to all morphological types and types of solid mineral deposits. It can take into account the heterogeneity of the geological structure of the resource, the presence of constraints, and ore-controlling structures. The method allows for a clear representation of mineral resource localization patterns and an objective reserve classification.

Keywords: polygonal method, reserve calculation, exploration grid, exploration parameters, estimation error, delineation errors.

COMPOSITION AND ORIGIN OF ORE-MINERALIZED BIOTITE SHALES OCCURRING WITHIN THE TUYUKAN URANIUM ORE FIELD (IRKUTSK REGION)

During exploration work in the Tuyukan uranium ore field, where the bulk of uranium concentrations are localized in metasomatically and tectonically reworked Early Proterozoic granitoids, anomalously elevated uranium concentrations were also found in biotite rocks with a schistose appearance. These concentrations are found in zones of tectonized contacts between granites and crosscutting dolerite dikes. It has been established that the main factor in the formation of uranium-bearing biotitites is dynamometamorphism, resulting in the formation of non-stratified linear sheet-like lenticular bodies ranging from 5–10 cm to a few meters thick, unevenly enriched in uranium minerals, uranium-bearing formations, and unidentifiable uranium inclusions of micro- and nanometer sizes.

Keywords: biotitite, Tuyukan, uranium, tectonite, diaphthorite.

STRESS-STRAIN CONDITIONS OF FORMATION AND LOCALIZATION OF GOLD MINERALIZATION IN THE KOCHBULAK AND KAIRAGACH ORE FIELDS

The article is devoted to the study of the stress-strain state and geodynamic setting of the Kochbulak and Kayragach ore fields during the ore-forming period. Tectonophysical modeling revealed the distribution and spatial heterogeneity of stress fields, and concentration patterns at intersections and bends of fault structures. The key role in shaping the stress state is played by fa ult activity and morphology, and their orientation relative to tectonic forces. A correlation has been identified between tectonic stress levels and the distribution of ore mineralization. Comparison of models with geological and structural data delineated promising tectonophysical positions favorable for gold mineralization localization. The results obtained have practical implications for prospecting and exploration and for expanding the gold mineral resource base in the Chatkal-Kurama region.

DEVELOPMENT OF A DATABASE STRUCTURE FOR TECHNOGENIC PLACERS BASED ON THEIR MATERIAL-GENETIC TYPES

The article presents a general description of technogenic placers formed as a result of mining and processing activities. Their role in providing Russia with strategically important types of mineral raw materials, including Au, Sn, Pt, and rare metals (rare earth elements, Sc, Ta, Nb, etc.), is assessed. It is shown that the development of technogenic placers reduces environmental damage and mining costs. A material-genetic classification of technogenic placers is proposed, based on key features: useful component, type of primary deposit, enrichment technology, lithological composition of waste, nature of losses during processing, and secondary processes occurring in technogenic formations. Based on this classification, a database structure for technogenic deposits in Russia is being developed.

Keywords: strategic mineral raw materials, technogenic placers, classification of technogenic deposits, gold, tin, platinum, rare metals, database.
