STATUS, PROBLEMS, DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS The issues of the organization of the system of geochemical support for the regional geological studies carried out by the IMGRE within the framework of the State task are considered. Availability of the geochemical base maps to be produced as a result of the budget-financed geological mapping is characterized, along with the main shortcomings and problems of the multi-scale geochemical work. The future views and the directions of development are displayed. Keywords: geochemical mapping, summary predictive geochemical map, mineragenic taxa, ecological geochemistry. Р. 4 |

(IMGRE) THE DISYMMETRIC FORMATION OF THE EARTH’S LITHOSPHERE — AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE CONCEPT OF PLATE TECTONICS The formation of the Earth’s continental and oceanic lithosphere is determined by the initially disymmetric formation of the «continental» and «marine» hemispheres of the Earth differing in regimes of meteorite and asteroid bombardment. The first stage (4.5–3.5 b.y.) is characterized by continuous meteorite bombardment and melting of the primordial planetary silicate material, resulting in the formation of a continuous felsic proto-crust on the planet’s surface. The second stage (<3.5 b.y.) is characterized by localized asteroid bombardment, fragmentation of the felsic proto-crust, and the generation of mafic-ultramafic melts from the subcrustal layers of the magmatic ocean, resulting in the formation of ancient oceanic crust. (MSU) PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN THE TRANSITION FROM REGIONAL GEOCHEMICAL WORK TO GEOCHEMICAL PROSPECTING Geochemical methods have always occupied a leading position in the system of geological exploration of the subsoil and mineral prospecting. The hierarchy of multi-scale geochemical surveys established during the Soviet period corresponded to the stages and phases of geological exploration and was based on the principle of successive approaches to the prospecting object—the mineral deposit. Violation of this conceptual principle led to the loss of the prospecting object. In this regard, the decision to reintroduce geochemical prospecting at a scale of 1:50 000 as a standalone method seems justified and timely. This article is devoted to some existing problems and their solutions on the way to the emerging transition. Keywords: stream sediments, secondary halos, geochemical work on a scale of 1:50 000. Geochemical criteria for identifying and sorting potentially diamond-bearing areas have been developed. The anoma lous geochemical area of the Malokuonam deposit was used as a reference object. An assessment of the diamond-bearing potential of the Myunyusyakh and Ebilyakh areas was carried out. Four new prospective anomalous geochemical areas were identified. Keywords: anomalous geochemical field, geochemical basis, diamond-bearing potential, kimberlite pipe. Р. 30 |

Its purpose is to legally secure the right of the coastal state to explore and exploit the seabed and subsoil resources in these areas. The main documents establishing the procedure are Part VI of the Convention (Article 76) and Annex II to the Convention. The Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (hereinafter referred to as the CLCS), a special international body of 21 experts in the fields of geology, geophysics, and hydrography, plays a central role in the process. Russia actively participates in this process. The first submission to the CLCS was made in 2001, and in 2023 Russia submitted its application materials for the Gakkel Ridge. These documents substantiate that the Gakkel Ridge is a submarine ridge representing a natural continuation of the continental margin into the Laptev Sea. Bathymetric data from 2022 and 2024 clearly confirm that the Gakkel Ridge is morphologically connected to the Eurasian continental margin and is part of it within the meaning of Article 76. The process of establishing the outer limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles is a critical mechanism for expanding the rights of coastal states to marine resources in strict accordance with international law. (IMGRE) DISPLAYING THE COMPOSITION OF A PRIORI GEOCHEMICAL ASSOCIATIONS IN REGIONAL GEOCHEMICAL MAPPING This paper examines the applicability of a graphical presentation method of a priori geochemical associations’ composition. This original approach was introduced by Swiss specialists when compiling a geochemical atlas of their country. To assess its feasibility, the authors used it when processing the soil extract analysis results obtained as part of a regional multipurpose geochemical soil survey on mapsheet N-40 at a scale of 1:1000 000 (MPGM-1000). The sheet boundaries contain the Republic of Bashkortostan almost entirely, as well as parts of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, and Orenburg regions, and a small fragment of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Swiss method was positively estimated. Its capabilities were expanded through the use of geostatistical techniques. (Karpynsky institute) THE NATURE OF THE ZIRCONIUM AND YTTRIUM GEOCHEMICAL ANOMALIES IN THE WEST KEIVY AREA (EASTERN PART OF THE KOLA PENINSULA) AND THEIR PROSPECTING SIGNIFICANCE (ACCORDING TO THE RESULTS OF THE GDP-200 SHEETS Q-37-I, II) The article presents the results of an analysis of anomalous geochemical fields in secondary halos and scattering flows, as well as maps of ore anomalies on a scale of 1 : 200 000 across the Zapadno-Keivy area. Areal anomalies of zirconium and yttrium, confined to the endo- and exocontacts of the alkaline granite complex, have been identified. Geochemical anomalies have a close spatial connection with the development of aerogamma-spectrometric anomalies of thorium. Field verification of the anomalies showed that the ore mineralization is confined to quartz-feldspar and fluorite-magnetite-quartz veins. Zirconium–yttrium ores contain a significant admixture of rare earth metals. A potential Kuljok ore field has been identified, where geological and mineragenic mapping on a scale of 1:50 000 is recommended. THE FIRST PAGES For the first time, the history of the development of exploration geochemistry as a new technological direction of geological exploration is consistently described. M.P. Rusakov (1926) was the first to apply the method of geochemical prospecting based on ‘primary’ ore haloes in Kazakhstan. V.A. Sokolov developed (1929–1935) a method for gas surveying. The general concept of prospecting based on dispersion (‘secondary’) haloes and its practical implementation emerged in the period from 1932 to 1941 as a result of the work of a team of specialists led by N.I. Safronov, E.A. Sergeev, and A.P. Solovov. Keywords: exploration geochemistry, cuprometric maps, metallometric survey, dispersion haloes, history of science. Р. 86 |
