Particular focus is given to oil and gas. New data about the prospective oil and gas objects Arctic shelf of Russia, who had not been previously investigated. For these purposes, the expedition has the most modern equipment – bottom stations Geospace, enable you to perform seismic 2D/3D mode 4C. This technology makes available conducting multicomponent seismic exploration in the Arctic, providing a gradual transition to full-wave (MIF) seismic survey. (VSUGE «VIMS») // vims-pechenkin@mail.ru POLAROIDS APPLICATION IN MINERALOGY, TECHNOLOGY AND ART (The 135th anniversary of Vladimir Vasilevich Arshinov) The short essay is dedicated to 135 anniversary from the birth of V.V. Arshinov, the famous scientist, the founder of school for petrographers. He for his scientific activity devoted special attention to the polaroids. He is the creator of many optical devices that have received wide recognition. He proposed to use them in various branches of science, technology and art. In the mid-1930s professor V.V. Arshinov developed basic principles for creating «the shining mosaic». Its colorations and hues are formed when natural transparent, colorless minerals are placed between two sheets of polarization foil. The scientist’s numerous proposals in regard to the application of the shining mosaic, which in his view could become a new connecting link between science and art, weren’t implemented. Key words: Arshinov, polaroid, polarized light, «shining mosaic». Р. 56-59 |
